Jennifer couldn't be any happier being in a safe haven, a sanctuary, a port in a storm. Jenny, as people called her, was sitting by a river, listening to the radio, playing songs that she knew all the lyrics to, all the songs she listened to day after day...
The river in the academy was the most peaceful setting in all of the academy, one of which she couldn't burn down. It wasn't at all peaceful to sit in a tree, and then later leaving it in flames! Her powers have not gotten that powerful, but she was afraid her powers would increase like how you fall asleep, slowly then all at once. (totally not a Fault in our Stars reference)
Jenny flinched as she heard someone come toward her. "They're all like me, don't worry, they can't hurt me," Thought Jennifer.
"Can they?"

Jade always loved forests. The fresh smell, the bright greens and subtle browns, the dew on the leaves in the morning, it always made her feel at home. It was weird actually. She had always lived in the city, so it was hard to find places like a forest. There weren't many parks like that, and the school gardens were always practically in ruin.
Approaching a nice river, Jade stuck her hand into the water, keeping an eye out for fish or any plants. A few fish swam against the current, but that was it. She couldn't find the special moss that she heard could be found near the river. Jade stood up and continued to walk down the river bank, keeping an eye out for anything interesting. Looking up and seeing a person sitting near the water, her face instantly brightened up.
"Hello there!" She called enthusiastically, while waving her hand high in the air.
(Btw, Jade LOVES to sing)

(good to know)
Jennifer turned her head toward the approaching girl. She didn't speak for awhile, for she never thought anybody would find her intresting, in any way. Remembering that these people were like her, she gave out a small, "Hi."
(dagnabbit it's short)

Jade looked at the girl. She seemed friendly enough. She didn't really have and features that stood out, unlike Jade's bright hair and eyes. Was she even part of the Academy?
"I'm Jade, Jade Faranoy. Are you a student at Aura Academy?"

(lol her eyes are orange)
"I'm Jennifer Bixby, and yes, I'm a student here at Aura Academy." said Jen. "My power is fire manipulation, what's yours?" Jennifer was surprised, she was acting all lot more perky than usual. Maybe it was a nervous thing?

(From where jade is standing, they look brown)
Jade smile when Jennifer responded. " Fire? Cool! I always wanted to meet someone who would do fire. I met a water dude once. He was really laid back... My power is life energy manipulation. Some call it 'plant bending' or something like that. I can heal too, but that's it." she finished enthusiastically. She seemed nice.

Jennifer smiled, and said, "Cool! Do you want so see a little bit of what I can do?" Oh wait. Jenny didn't really have much of a power, even though it sounded like she did. She tried to make a tiny fireball, and to her immediate surprise, it worked. It was just very tiny.

Jade's eyes widened in awe as Jennifer created a small fire ball. It was beautifull. Like it had its own life force.
"Thats really cool! I could show you some of my powers too! I can't do very much yet though". It was easier to use her powers in such a lively environment. The only big downside to her powers, was that she couldn't just make the energy appear out of thin air. The only way to get the energy, was to suck it out of a living bing, or when something nearby dies, the remaining life essence gets absorbed by herself. Jade had never anyone about this though.
Lowering down to a wilting flower, Jade focused on the life around her. A few birds in the trees, about two squirls, and a nest of soldier ants were hidden in a nearby tree. Jade looked around, and picked up a stick that fell from one of the trees around them. It still had a bit of essence left in it, enough at least.
A green glow came out of the stick and flowed into the flower, who's leafs turned a nice green, and petals turned a bright shade of violet. Jade turned to Jennifer and smiled. As much as she tied to enjoy having powers, she couldn't help but hate herself whenever she used it. Life was worth treasuring, not taking.
"It's more complicated then it looks, trust me," she said while standing up.
(I feel really bad for Jade now. FEELS. She is usually soooo optimistic.)

(Aww ) Jennifer's jaw dropped in awe when Jade revived a flower just by using a stick. "Complicated? I used up all my strength making a fireball!" teased Jen. After awhile, Jennifer decided to say, "You know, you can call me Jenny or Jen, if you want."
