These rules must be followed. Failure of following all of the rules listed below will result in receiving a warning meter. If your meter ever reaches 100%, then you will be suspended from Aura Academy for a week. When your suspension is up, your warning will be removed, but a note will be filed on your account. Should you ever reach 100% again, you will be banned. If you are given a warning under 100%, it will terminate approximately a month after receiving your last warning. The size of your warning is to be determined by the staff member who has caught you breaking the rules.
More will be added as needed.
1. Foul language or insults directed to anyone outside of roleplay will not be tolerated at all. If you should decide to act irresponsibly and disrespectfully to any other member of this forum, you will be subject to a large raise on your warning meter, and a note will be placed on your account. Despite this, however, foul language in general will be permitted to an extent. Any words that are considered harsher than "shit" will not be allowed, but do not abuse this freedom and overuse harsh speech. Please limit your cursing in and out of character. If you do use these harsh words too much you will still be subject to a (smaller) warning meter raise.
2. Use the boards that are not OOC (out of character) for roleplaying only. The OOC boards are separate for a reason, and it is to better organize the site and keep things from getting out of hand. If you need to comment OOC in an in-character post, please write your OOC comments within parentheses.
3. Do not spam the chat. For those of you who do not know what spam on a forum is, it's useless blanks, 'bumps', single words/symbols, posts that are pure emoticons, or posts that have nothing to do with the topic. Roleplaying posts should contain 3 words or more. Threads outside of the roleplaying boards may contain less than 3 words, as long as it is within reason.
4. Listen to a respect all staffers (and all other players in general). If they correct you on roleplaying or raise your warning bar do not reply disrespectfully or lash out of them, they are doing their jobs to keep this site running smoothly as possible. Listen to them, and if you have questions, feel free to PM any of them about it.
5. Do not impersonate other players. For example, do not pretend to be Professor Desford (me) teaching a class as you are not me, and you are not my character, and do not have control over my actions, or that of my character. The next rule is connected to this topic as well.
6. Do not powerplay, godmod, or do anything related to this. For those of you who do not know, godmodding is when you use OOC knowledge and pretend that somehow your character knows it when they actually do not, and powerplaying is controlling another person's character, or not giving them a chance to retaliate after attacking them. This will be expanded further upon here.
7. No sharing personal information anywhere on Aura Academy--this includes private messages and the intro board. While you can share your first name, state/province/region, gender, and appropriate images, do not share your age, city/address, or last name. THIS IS FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY. IF ANYONE IS ASKING FOR THIS INFORMATION CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY.
8. There is to be one character per account. For each new character you create, please create a new account.
9. If anyone is not following any of these rules, contact one of the staffers, and please do not try to handle things yourself. You can notify the player and (politely) tell them the rules they are breaking and ask them to fix it, but if they refuse tell a staffer.
10. Marrying and dying are not allowed. You cannot have kids. These are teenagers, and therefore are not old enough to marry or have kids. You are welcome to have boyfreinds, girlfriends, etc, but nothing more severe than that.
11. Do not advertise websites outside of the advertisement board. Do not PM members links to your website(s) unless they ask you for the link(s). Links to websites (not on Proboards) are allowed to be posted in the general board, however.
12. No mentioning or writing about drugs, alcohol, smoking, or any other ideologically sensitive material. This will have NO exceptions, and will not be tolerated.
13. Try not to have a signature image that is any larger than 600x400.
14. No weapons without permission from Professor Ella Phoenix or me. We will most likely say no, so be prepared to give a reason why they would need a weapon.
15. Please familiarize yourself with all of the guides and rules and be willing to help others do the same. Show them around if they need help and show them this is a fun community to be in! Be nice to the newbs!
16. Have fun. That's why this forum is here. Ask questions if you have problems, as well, we are always willing to help.
